Como abrir documentos ODF/ODT con Microsoft Office 2000/XP72003/2007/2010
Sino quereis instalar OpenOffice o LibreOffice para poder abrir documentos que os envien o tengas en *.ODT y teneis una version antigua de Microsoft Office2000/XP72003/2007/2010, podeis probar a instalar este Plugin.
The new release of the ODF Plugin, version 3.1, supports ODF 1.2 and improves the import and export of ODF files into Microsoft Office, increasing the interoperability of the plugin. Also new to this release is the ability for users to disable the ‘Registration and Update’ feature. This version supports Microsoft Office 2007 (Service Pack 1 or higher) and is available in 16 different languages.

Anoto y apunto que a mi me ha funcionado en un Office 2007 sobre Windows 10 y me ha fallado con Office 2007 sobre Windows 7, de todas formas, repito, lo mejor es que instaleis OpenOffice o LibreOffice junto a Microsoft Office.
